WINDSOR, ON — Northern Harmony extended her current win streak to five with a victory in the first of two Gold Series Eliminations at Windsor Raceway on Sunday evening.

The Run The Table filly and driver Randy Waples took control of the race just past the quarter mile marker and held off a late charge by runner-up Wendys Rocket and hall-of-famer William “Bud” Fritz to score the 1:55 victory, their ninth in 10 starts.

Bill Robinson trains the gifted young pacer for Gerrie Tucker of Montreal, Sampson Street Stables of Old Forge, PA, Don Bray of Newcastle and Angelo Dinardo of Etobicoke. In her brief career she has already earned $320,337 and has a commanding lead atop the division standings with 300 points.

The Patriot earned another 12 points with her third-place finish to remain firmly lodged in second spot in the Super Final standings with just one more Gold Series remaining. Tribute To Heroes will join her peers in the Sept. 29 Gold Final thanks to a fourth-place finish, while fifth-place finisher Shami Cami will be at the mercy of the draw to determine the final starter in the $130,000 event.

In the second elimination Please Me Please moved into third spot in the division rankings with an easy wire-to-wire victory. In rein to Chris Christoforou, Please Me Please rolled unchallenged through fractions of :26.4, :57.2 and 1:27 en route to the 1:56.1 win.

Trainer Robert McIntosh of Windsor, his brother Al McIntosh of Leamington and Dwight Stacey of Mitchell bred and own Please Me Please, a daughter of former McIntosh trainees Camluck and Artistic Pleasure. The win was the filly’s fourth of the season and her third in the last month and boosted her bank balance to $177,314 through nine starts.

Putnam Kelly and Town Jiffy rounded out the top three in the second Elimination. Fourth-place finisher Ascending will also advance to the Final while Maple Lady awaits the race day draw to see if she will be the fifth-place finisher selected to occupy the ninth spot on the Windsor Raceway starting gate.

The fillies will be back at Windsor Raceway next Sunday for their fourth $130,000 Gold Final and all nine contestants will be looking for a top five spot to earn a share of the provincial pie and cement their spot in the Top 10 as the season ending Super Final moves onto the horizon.
