DUNDAS, ON — Serious Comfort romped to a 1:56 victory in the two-year-old pacing filly Gold Final at Flamboro Downs on Friday evening, extending her win streak to an impressive three races.

The Precious Bunny daughter and driver Roger Mayotte left smartly from Post 2 and controlled the pace through fractions of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:27.2. Double Creme pressured the fan favourite through the mid-stages of the race, but around the final turn Serious Comfort began to pull away from the field, pacing home to a one length victory.

Taylor Lynne, owned by Carl Jamieson of Princeton, Gerald Rattray of Hamilton, Jerry Jamieson of Blenheim and Arthur Slack of Cumbria, England, picked up the second-place share of the $130,000 purse, while Double Creme settled for third.

Roy Jeffries trains Serious Comfort for breeder and owner Millar Farms of Newmarket. Since a runner-up finish in her Aug. 26 debut at Woodbine Racetrack the talented young pacer has amassed an impressive resume, capturing her division of the Champlain Stakes at Mohawk Racetrack on Sept. 5, last week’s Gold Elimination and Friday’s lucrative Final. Through four races the half sister to $166,215 winner Trust Me Ashley has already earned $145,422.

Serious Comfort returned $2.70 to win, $2.10 to place and $2.10 on a show wager, while Taylor Lynne’s fans earned $2.80 and $2.10. Double Creme’s third-place effort was worth $2.40 to show. The exactor returned a spare $6.40 and adding Double Creme to the mix for a triactor ticket increased the pay out to just $9.40.

The win boosted Serious Comfort into sixth spot in the division standings and a solid effort in the last Gold Series event at Mohawk Racetrack on Oct. 25 should guarantee the filly a berth in the lucrative Super Final. Taylor Lynne maintained her position atop the standings with 270 points.

Ontario Sires Stakes excitement is back at Flamboro Downs on Sunday evening with a trio of Gold Eliminations for the highly talented three-year-old trotting fillies. The first race goes postward at 6:20 pm and the fillies are featured in Races 2, 5, and 8.
