DUNDAS, ON — Tymal Timeout and Wayne Henry delivered a flawless performance at Flamboro Downs on Canada Day to claim their second straight victory and post the fastest mile of three $33,587 Gold Eliminations.

As the starting gate pulled away from the field of two-year-old trotting fillies, Henry settled Tymal Timeout in third spot on the rail behind J M Aggie and the other half of the Henry entry, Tymal Francesca. Through fractions of :29.2, 1:01 and 1:31.1 Henry allowed Jody Jamieson and J M Aggie to do all the hard work on the front end.

Turning for home Tymal Timeout was one and a half lengths behind the pacesetter, but a sharp :30.2 finishing kick propelled her to a three-quarter length victory in 2:01.4. J M Aggie settled for the runner-up’s share, Hetties Lavec finished seven lengths behind the leaders in third and Henry’s second stringer Tymal Francesca was three more lengths back in fourth.

Wayne Henry trains and drives Tymal Timeout for his partners in the Henry Stable of Arthur and Daniel McCann of Parkhill. The group plucked the Royal Strength daughter out of last year’s Forest City Yearling Sale for $21,000 and through two starts, Saturday’s Gold Elimination win and a Trillium Series victory on June 24, she has repaid her purchase price with interest.

Tymal Timeout is a full sister to $172,707 winner Lookit, who was an Ontario Sires Stakes regular for the Henry’s in 2004 and 2005.

In the second Gold Elimination Jody Jamieson guided Duchess Of York to an impressive six length victory. Starting from Post 3, Duchess Of York got away fourth, but it was not long before Jamieson sent her up the outside to overtake Wayne Henry and Malahide. In front by one and one-quarter lengths at the three-quarter pole, Duchess Of York accelerated away from the field to the 2:02.3 triumph.

Banquet Hall grabbed second-place with a strong move up the outside and Paris Oaks rounded out the top three.

Princeton resident Carl Jamieson trains Duchess Of York for his partners Thomas Kyron of Etobicoke, Edward Smith of Rockwood and Brian Paquet of Quebec, QC. Jamieson acquired the Duke Of York daughter at the Canadian Open Yearling Sale last fall, shelling out $11,000 for the half-sister to former Grassroots winner Wheres Berndt.

The final elimination went to Caught My Eye, who received a classic come-from-behind steer from hall of fame horseman Bill O’Donnell to net the 2:03.1 victory.

Armbro Exuberant and Trevor Ritchie carved out all the fractions under heavy pressure from Wayne Henry and Windsong Darling while O’Donnell looked on from fifth with Caught My Eye. The veteran reinsman waited until the final turn to begin his drive to the top and Caught My Eye powered around the corner and down the stretch to the one and one-quarter length victory over Fabtowin and Windsong Darling.

Like Tymal Timeout, Caught My Eye was a winner in the Trillium Series season opener at Sudbury Downs on June 24. The Angus Hall miss, a $55,000 yearling acquisition out of the Forest City Sale, competes for trainer Frank O’Reilly of Orton, John Fielding of Toronto and John Ferguson of Windsor.
