The combination of owner Kjell Andersen of Norway, trainer Dave Menary and driver James MacDonald are on a roll. Last night their Muscle Babe was a dominant winner in her Ontario Sires Stakes Gold division at Mohawk, winning by more than five lengths in 1:53.3.

Tonight her stablemate Quadrophenia was just as impressive in the fastest of six $18,000 OSS Grassroots divisions for three-year-old trotting fillies at the Campbellville oval.

MacDonald had the filly in gear to take over the lead from Lucy past the opening quarter in :28.2. She hit the half in :57.1 and the three-quarters in 1:26.4 and simply could not be caught down the lane as she opened up to win by more than 11 lengths in 1:57 over Nickange Two and Love Detective. The track was rated Good due to tonight’s rain.

It was the second win in three lifetime starts for the daughter of Kadabra who was unraced at two. She is the third foal of the $791,000 winner Birminghim, a top OSS filly for trainer Harald Lunde.

Daughters of Angus Hall captured three of tonight’s divisions starting with Torches Star (1:59.4) for Steve Condren, Eliza Dream (1:58.4) for Ron Pierce and Diamonds For Life (1:58.2) for Chris Christoforou.

The other two splits were captured by fillies from the first crop of Federal Flex. Please Okay recorded her fourth win in six starts this year in her division to win in 1:59 for Rick Zeron. Flexible Woman was victorious in the other test for Steve Byron, getting home first in 1:58.3.

The next Grassroots event for this group is slated for July 2 at Grand River Raceway. Full results from tonight are available Mohawk Results – June 17.
