CAMPBELLVILLE, ON — J M Aggie picked up her second straight victory and her third this season in the last of three $34,357 Gold Eliminations at Mohawk Racetrack on Monday evening.

With part owner Jody Jamieson in the race bike, the Angus Hall filly sprinted away from Post 9 to a :29 opening quarter and never looked back. To The Rescue attempted to muscle her way to the front heading by the 1:30.2 three-quarters, but J M Aggie easily disposed of the challenger and opened up to an eight and three-quarter length victory in 2:00.

Fan favourite Whitesand Electra, owned by Joanne Wray of Campbellville, finished second and To The Rescue, owned by Keith Klages of Guelph, settled for third.

J M Aggie has been a consistent player on the Gold Series scene since her debut in the July 1 season opener at Flamboro Downs. Through six Gold Series starts she has accumulated one win, one second and three thirds. She also captured an Aug. 1 Grassroots division at Kawartha Downs.

Jtlady Strong closed hard to earn the runner-up’s share of the Ontario Sires Stakes purse and Summer Drinks was promoted from fourth to third when fan favourite Carolyn AS was placed from third back to sixth for causing interference in the stretch.

The other elimination went to division leader Tymal Timeout, who cruised around the Mohawk oval on the front end to a 2:01.1 victory over favourite Lakeside Bride and Striking Pockets.

Trainer Wayne Henry guided the Royal Strength daughter to her fourth Gold Elimination victory for his partners in the Henry Stable of Arthur and Daniel McCann of Parkhill. Through nine starts the talented young trotter has missed the top two on just one occasion, accumulating six wins, two seconds and $191,380.

The top three finishers from each elimination, and one fourth-place finisher selected by random draw, will return to Mohawk Racetrack on Monday, Oct. 2 for the last $130,000 Gold Final of their freshman campaign.
