CAMPBELLVILLE, ON — Freshly minted millionaire Bee A Magician will be looking to extend her perfect record to six wins in the Gold Series season opener at Mohawk Racetrack on Monday, June 24.
Flawless in open stakes action this spring, the three-year-old trotting filly and driver Rick Zeron of Oakville will have their hands full on Monday, starting from Post 9 in a tough field that includes Elegantimage Stake runner-up Angies Lucky Star at Post 6.
Angies Lucky Star and last year’s top Ontario Sires Stakes reinsman, Sylvain Filion of Milton, will be looking to avenge the narrow loss they suffered in the June 15 Elegantimage Final and boost their win total to three in the first of two $105,000 Gold divisions.
Ontario’s three-year-old pacing kings also swing into action on Monday, with last year’s Super Final champion Mach Pride looking for his first win of the season from Post 9 in the first $70,000 division. Mach Pride and Campbellville resident Mike Saftic are up against an impressive looking field that includes the swift Windsong Jack at Post 1 and Closing Credits from Post 6.
Racing action gets under way at 7:25 pm on Monday evening, with the three-year-old trotting fillies matching strides in Races 2 and 5 and the three-year-old pacing colts battling over the Mohawk Racetrack oval in Races 4, 7, and 10.
