WINDSOR, OCT. 27, 2001 — Ifihadyourluck turned the tables on Pacific Titan in the Gold Series Elimination for two-year-old pacing colts at Windsor Raceway on Saturday night.

In their last three meetings Pacific Titan has finished ahead of Ifihadyourluck, but on Saturday the Brad McNinch trainee eked out a neck victory over his rival in 1:54.1.

Leaving from Post 5 Ifihadyourluck sat fifth as Pacific Titan reeled off fractions of :27.1, :55.2 and 1:24.3. As the colts turned for home driver Trevor Ritchie popped the Camluck colt in overdrive and outstepped the pacesetter through the stretch. Bryant followed up one and a quarter lengths back in third.

Schrooth Stable LLC of Colts Neck, NJ and Laura Delucia of Maywood, NJ own Ifihadyourluck, who has banked $156,932 in 12 starts this season racing against North America’s best freshmen. He sports a record of four wins, three seconds and one third.

The $62,000 yearling jumped up the Super Final point standings with the win, moving into fourth place with 142 points. Pacific Titan qualified for a berth in the Super Final by making his required second start in Gold Series action. The Camluck son has earned 80 points in two Elimination starts and a win in the Oct. 4 Gold Final.

Division leader Daylon Frontier added another eight points to his total with a fourth-place finish. Local colt Goth Vader delivered a respectable fifth-place cheque to owner Michael Dresser of Windsor in his first Ontario Sires Stakes start.

All seven colts are eligible to return to Windsor Raceway next Saturday for the last $100,000 Gold Series Final of their season. Following Saturday’s event the top 10 point earners from the regular season will appear in the $250,000 Super Final at Mohawk Racetrack.
