CAMPBELLVILLE, ON — Goodtimes winner Flanagan Memory made his sophomore Gold Series debut at Mohawk Racetrack on Friday, June 28, and turned in his second straight victory over the Campbellville oval.
The Kadabra son and Campbellville resident Chris Christoforou stopped the clock at 1:55, reeling in dueling leaders Gotta Secret and Buddy Hally in the final quarter and trotting off to the two and three-quarter length victory.
Later in the program Goodtimes runner-up Toocool Forschool delivered a commanding victory in his Gold Series leg, trotting under the wire eight lengths ahead of his peers. Campbellville resident Mike Saftic engineered the 1:54 triumph for trainer Glenn Lalonde of Guelph.
The other three-year-old trotting colt division was captured by Kennel Buddy and Guelph resident Doug McNair.
Also making their provincial debut were the two-year-old pacing colts and Moffat resident Jody Jamieson captured two divisions, steering Shadow Play colts Arthur Blue Chip and Shadowbriand to victory in 1:53.4 and 1:54.4, respectively.
Christoforou earned his own driving double, crafting a 1:54 win for P L Hellcat in the other freshman pacing colt division.
The two-year-old pacing colts make their second start at Mohawk on July 8, while the three-year-old trotting colts will be gearing up for the Mid-Summer Challenge at the Campbellville oval on August 10. Ontario Sires Stakes action continues at Mohawk on Monday, July 1.
