DUNDAS, ON — Moffat resident Jack Moiseyev piloted two young trotting colts to Gold Elimination victory at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday afternoon.

The veteran reinsman picked up a catch drive aboard Majestized in the first $40,000 elimination and piloted the fan favourite to a confident front-end victory in 2:03.1. Majestized finished two and one-half lengths ahead of Dewer Kash and four ahead of Krim Broughalem.

Trainer Johnny Waite and Kimberley Waite of Camden, DE own Majestized, a son of Majestic Son and Digitized who prepped for Wednesday’s Gold Series season opener in Pennsylvania. The colt qualified three times before shipping north, the most recent a 2:01.4 victory at Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack on June 19.

Majestized will start from Post 2 in next Wednesday’s $130,000 Gold Final, while Dewer Kash and Krim Broughalem get Posts 5 and 4, respectively.

Moiseyev made his second appearance in the Flamboro Downs winner’s circle with heavy favourite Cool Victory. Starting from Post 1 the pair controlled the tempo from start to finish, rolling through fractions of :31, 1:01.2, and 1:32.3 before cruising home three and three-quarter lengths ahead of the competition in 2:02.1.

Two Doors Down tagged along behind the pacesetter into the runner-up spot, while Musclescorleone rolled up the outside into third for Dave Van Camp of Hamilton, trainer Fred Jamieson of Putnam and Renato Confortin of London.

Moiseyev also piloted Cool Victory to a June 14 qualifying win at Mohawk Racetrack and a runner-up effort in a June 9 qualifier at Mohawk for trainer John Kopas of Milton, LLK Stable of Mississauga, Kocomo Stables of Moffat, Janet Wagner of Mississauga and Gary Grieve of Union, the same group who enjoyed trotting colt The Game Plan’s outstanding freshman campaign last season.

Kadabra son Cool Victory will be handicapped by Post 7 in next week’s Gold Final, while Two Doors Down benefits from Post 3 and Musclescorleone gets Post 6.

In the last Gold Elimination Moiseyev and Stonebridge Vista hit the wire first, but were placed back to third due to a late break in stride. Stepping into the winner’s circle was Mario Oneeighthree, with The Manipulator getting a promotion to second.

Brenda Spence conditions Mario Oneeighthree for breeder Frank Cirillo of Kleinburg and started the Kadabra colt in two qualifiers at Rideau Carleton Raceway prior to Wednesday’s test. The colt finished third at the Ottawa oval on June 21 with a 2:04.1 effort and fourth on June 14 after making a break in stride.

Mario Oneeighthree will start from the trailing Post 9 next Wednesday, with The Manipulator landing the outside Post 8 and Stonebridge Vista, who is owned by High Stakes Inc. of Moffat and breeder Angie Stiller of Arva, getting the advantageous Post 1.
