Prospect Series Weekly Recap – Volume 1

Every week throughout the summer Ontario Racing will provide a news and notes recap of the of Prospect Series action from the prior week, so let’s dive into our first of the summer.

MEGA PROSPECT CARD KICKS OFF GRAND RIVER RACEWAY SEASON

Due to rescheduling, nine Prospect Series divisions for both three-year-old sexes, and gaits took place on Grand River Raceway’s Opening Night, Friday, June 3.

Sir Ballykeel Goes Back-To-Back

The gelding opened the 2022 Prospect Series season with a win on May 26 at Flamboro Downs, and now has a record of 2-0-1 in six starts this year.

Biggest Long-Shot

Windsun Martini was the longest shot to come away with a win on Friday at Grand River, winning a $7,200 division for three-year-old pacing fillies in a closely contested race that saw the top-three finishers all clocked in at 2:00.1
