The $140,000 Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Leg 2 Gold Series event for 2-year-old trotting colts postponed on Thursday (July 24) due to severe weather at Woodbine Mohawk Park, will now be raced, as originally drawn, on Thursday, July 31 as part of the track’s regular card of pari-mutuel wagering.
Severe storms struck Woodbine Mohawk Park during the July 24 card just before the race 7 OSS Gold field was due to leave the paddock. After a long delay, the decision was made to cancel the final four races on the card due to unsafe racing conditions caused by lightning.
