REXDALE, ON — When Tinys Million stuck his head in front of Transcending at Woodbine Racetrack on Sunday evening, the three-year-old pacing colt triggered a pay out that was anything but tiny.

Battling in the last Gold Elimination of their careers, the sophomore pacers raised the excitement level at Woodbine as soon as the starting car folded its wings and accelerated away from the field. Fan favourite Bigtime Ball made an early break and was 14 lengths off the pace when Transcending hit the opening quarter in :28, and moments later Daddy Mac jumped off stride challenging Transcending at the :57.1 half.

Transcending was still on top at the 1:24.4 three-quarters, but as the colts turned for home Brad Forward popped Tinys Million out of the pocket and shifted him into high gear. The pair battled down the stretch and when the dust settled, Tinys Million had scored a head victory over Transcending and Bigtime Ball had logged a :26 last quarter to claim third-place honours. Sky Tantrum and Sipwiththepres rounded out the top five.

The longest shot on the board, Tinys Million returned $137.80 to win, $33.40 to place and $12.80 to show. He combined with Transcending for a $542.90 exactor, and with Transcending and Bigtime Ball for a $2,134.60 triactor.

Tinys Million stopped the clock at 1:52, a full three seconds faster than his former personal best. The Million Dollar Cam son was making his second Ontario Sires Stakes start. In his first Gold Series outing, Sept. 18 at Kawartha Downs, the gelding went off stride turning for home and faded to eighth.

Scott McEneny trains the OSS novice for Joe Tinelli and Troy Hewko of Edmonton, AB. Through 17 starts Tinys Million has posted five wins, three seconds and three thirds.

In The Irons claimed the second Gold Elimination with a sharp front end effort in 1:50.3, almost one second faster than his former best effort. The Mach Three son hit the wire three lengths up on fan favourite Deuces And Jacks, four ahead of Semalu Express and Along Came Polly and five in front of Golden Seven.

The win was In The Irons’s first in four shots at the Gold Series this season. In 22 starts the Randy Hill trainee has logged six wins, seven seconds and one third, and taken several cracks at the top colts in North America, competing in the Burlington Stakes, North America Cup and Confederation Cup.
