SARNIA, ON — Poor track conditions caused by the afternoon thunder showers forced Hiawatha Horse Park to cancel its race program on Thursday. As a result, the three-year-old trotting colt Grassroots event originally scheduled for last night’s program will be contested next Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Sarnia oval.
The Grassroots races will not be redrawn. Post positions and race numbers will remain the same as on the original card. As in all added money events, the starting fee is still due if a horse is scratched.
Hiawatha Horse Park’s first race will go postward at 7:30 pm next Thursday, with the three-year-old trotting colts stepping up to the plate in Races 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
