The Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) Gold, Grassroots and Prospect Series Finals are just around the corner, and participants are encouraged to check their current point standings and eligibility on the OSS website.
If your horse has made the minimum number of starts and has accumulated points in their respected divisions, you are encouraged to enter the divisions final.
The Prospect Series Finals are slated for Friday, Oct. 2 and Tuesday, Oct. 6 at The Raceway at Western Fair District in London. Three-year-olds will line up behind the gate on Oct. 2 and the 2-year-olds on Oct. 6. Each division final will race for a purse of $25,000.
A minimum of three starts are required for entry into the Prospect Series Final. Finalists will be determined by season-long points standings in the series.
Grassroots Championships are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3 at Woodbine Mohawk Park in Campbellville. The eight Grassroots Championships will carry a purse of $100,000 apiece.
A minimum of two starts in the Grassroots Series Legs are required for entry into the Grassroots Championship. The top 10-point earners in each division from the Grassroots Series Legs who enter will draw into the championship. Two “Also Eligible” horses will be drawn from the next highest point earners who have entered. The number of starters in the Grassroots Championship will be limited to 10.
Winners of their respected Grassroots Championship have the opportunity to enter their corresponding Super Final if it does not fill with Gold Series point earners.
The Super Finals for Gold Series participants are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Super Final purses are $350,000 per division.
A minimum of one start in the Gold Series Legs is required for entry into the Super Final. The top 10-point earners from the Gold Series Legs who enter will draw into the division championship. Two “Also Eligible” horses will be drawn from the next highest point earners who have entered. The number of starters in the Gold Super Final will be limited to 10.
All starters in both the Grassroots Championship and Gold Super Finals will receive a share of the purse.
