MILTON – Intense battles are guaranteed for this Saturday’s Pepsi North America Cup eliminations at Woodbine Mohawk Park and there will be four Ontario Sired competitors across the four divisions.
Each $50,000 elimination this Saturday will feature just two guaranteed spots for the $1 million race. The top-two finishers from each elimination, plus two third-place finishers drawn by lot, will advance to the Cup final on June 17.
Elimination #1 – Race 3
Moment Is Here (All Bets Off)
The Bob McIntosh trainee has drawn post 7 in his bid to make the rich Cup final. The gelded son of All Bets Off finished second in last Saturday’s Somebeachsomewhere Stakes after winning in a national season’s best 1:49 on May 27. James MacDonald is in the bike.
Elimination #3 – Race 5
Stockade Seelster (State Treasurer)
O’Brien and Dan Patch Award winner Stockade Seelster headlines this elimination for for trainer Dr. Ian Moore.
The son of State Treasurer scored a 1:50.1 victory in a division of the Somebeachsomewhere to avenge a narrow defeat in his season debut. The nine-time winner is on the brink of millionaire status, sitting at $989,170 in career earnings. Jody Jamieson will drive from post 2.
Ace of Aces (Bettors Delight)
The Shawn Steacy trainee raced tough in his two-year-old campaign, with on the board finishes in the Nassaweyaga, Metro Pace, and OSS Gold Legs, but couldn’t break through with a win against stakes company. He defeated conditioned foes on May 27 at WMP. Bob McClure has the drive.
Elimination #4 – Race 9
Write Me A Rose (Sportswriter)
The Kyle Fellows trainee captured the SBOA Stakes on May 20 and enters three for five this season after winning three of nine last season. He was most recently fourth in a division of the Somebeachsomewhere. Sylvain Filion will pilot him from the outside post of 8.
